Every province funds licensed child care operators differently — cost-based reconciliation in Ontario, published per-day barèmes in Québec, four monthly funding streams in British Columbia, a fee-offset affordability grant in Alberta, a per-space operating grant in Manitoba. MapleCub builds a free companion calculator for each regime: every line of every estimate is shown with its own math and cited to the specific government source it comes from.
None of these tools is a replacement for your government's own funding process. Where the underlying figure is set by your service manager (Ontario's benchmark allocation, built from the published Schedule A/B/C tables) or isn't published as a table at all (Québec's facteurs d'ajustement, Alberta's regional maximum fee), the calculator says so plainly and takes that figure as an input from you instead of guessing at it.

Ontario funds CWELCC operators through a cost-based formula: Program Cost Allocation + Allocation in Lieu of Profit/Surplus − Expected Base Fee Revenue Offset, reconciled at year-end against actual costs and fee revenue.

BC pays four monthly, per-child streams to CCOF/CCFRI providers: CCOF base funding, CCFRI provider payment, CCFRI parent fee reduction, and (for eligible staff) the ECE Wage Enhancement — each with its own published rate table.

Alberta's Affordability Grant pays childcare fee minus a flat parent fee per child; the ECE Workforce Supports program adds a wage top-up by certification level plus a 9.51% mandatory employer contribution.
