Licensed Before & After School Care in Cobourg, ON

Before & After School Care in Cobourg

Six of Cobourg's eight licensed centres have enough Google reviews to look at, which is better coverage than most Ontario towns of this size manage, though the biggest review count in town is seven and that ceiling shapes how much weight any of it can carry. The town averages 4.25 across those six, against 4.46 for Ontario as a whole. That's slightly behind the province. It's also a gap that four extra reviews at one centre could close or widen entirely.

What to know about childcare in Cobourg

Three centres sit at 4.5 or above. Cobourg Day Care holds a 5.0 across seven reviews, and both St. Peter's Pre-School Learning Centre and The Pear Tree Preschool Inc. also show 5.0, each from four. Four reviews is four families. Read a perfect score at that volume as an absence of complaints rather than as proof of anything, because the centres with no reviews at all might be equally good and simply serve parents who never thought to post.

At the other end, Cobourg East YMCA Child Care Centre shows 3.5 from four reviews. Same caveat, opposite direction. That's a number worth asking about on a tour rather than a number worth ruling a programme out over, particularly for a YMCA site where the organisation's practices are usually consistent across locations.

All eight Cobourg listings are centres and none carries age licensing detail in the Ontario records we ingest, in line with roughly 82 per cent of our Ontario data, so infant availability is something you'll have to establish by phone.

Peterborough is about 41 km north with a considerably larger field, and Oshawa around 57 km west, both realistic if you already commute. Northumberland County administers the income-tested fee subsidy, and CWELCC enrolment is what sets the base fee for children under six at participating sites.
