Licensed centres
Seabird Island and Sts'ailes both run early learning programmes in Agassiz, and between them they account for three of the town's seven licensed listings: the Seabird Island Early Childhood Centre of Excellence on Charles Drive, Seabird Island Out of School Care on Chowat Road, and the Sts'ailes Early Education Centre on School Road. In a town this size that reshapes the whole picture. Language and culture programming is available here in a way it simply isn't across most of the eastern Fraser Valley.

What to know about childcare in Agassiz
The remaining four are Agassiz Christian Preschool on Morrow Road, Agassiz/Harrison Childcare Centres on Pioneer Avenue, Agassiz/Harrison Preschool and Child Care Centres Inc. on McCullough Road, and Angel Daycare Centre on Arbutus Drive. Angel Daycare is the only home-based listing.
The two Agassiz/Harrison entries share a name but not an address, so treat them as two sites of one organisation until somebody on the phone tells you otherwise.
Age data is thin. Five of the seven carry no age bands at all in our records, which is normal for British Columbia, where roughly six in seven listings sit blank on that field, and the two that do carry data list infant, toddler, preschool and school-age places. That's what our dataset holds. It isn't a survey of what the town offers.
Nobody in Agassiz has enough Google reviews for a rating, while rated BC listings average 4.61. Two have websites. All seven have a phone number. Harrison Hot Springs is next door and Chilliwack is the nearest market with real depth, so if the local lists are full the search widens quickly and without much of a drive.

Tips for choosing childcare in Agassiz
Verify Licensing
Confirm the centre holds a current provincial licence. A licence means the province checked baseline health, safety and staffing standards. It is a floor, not a ranking.
Read Parent Reviews
Reviews cover what an inspection report never will: what drop-off feels like, whether messages get answered, how long staff stay.
Ask About Curriculum
Ask what a Tuesday actually looks like. "Montessori" and "play-based" mean different things at different centres, so the daily schedule tells you more than the label does.
Consider Schedule Fit
Check the posted open and close times against your commute, not just your workday. Then ask what happens when you're late.
