Licensed Infant Care in Baie Comeau, QC

Infant Care in Baie Comeau

Baie-Comeau sits on the north shore of the St. Lawrence, a long way from the next childcare market of any size, and that geography does more to shape local supply than any policy decision has. Seven licensed sites appear here. They belong to four operators. Those four are Les P'Tits Bécots, Centre de la Petite Enfance Magimuse, Centre de la Petite Enfance au Boisé and Centre de la Petite Enfance au Carré de Sable, three of which are CPEs running on the reduced daily contribution.

What to know about childcare in Baie Comeau

Les P'Tits Bécots runs two entries at 525, boulevard Blanche, CPE Magimuse splits across installation 1000 Petits Pas on rue Mingan and les Gamins d'Ici on avenue Plessis, and CPE au Boisé appears twice at 25, avenue Chapleau, once as a temporary installation, which usually signals a building move or a renovation and is worth asking about before you commit to a waiting list. CPE au Carré de Sable is on rue Côté.

Licensed capacity totals 317 places, running from 78 down to a two-place entry that is almost certainly a register artefact rather than a real room. Six list infant places. All seven list toddler and preschool. Not one has a Google rating built on enough reviews to mean anything and none has a website on file, so the telephone is the only tool you have here, and six of the seven do at least have a number listed.

Register on La Place 0-5 before you call anyone. Three of the four operators are CPEs, which means the reduced daily contribution applies and the provincial queue is where places are actually allocated, so a friendly conversation with a directrice will not move you up it.
