Daycare & Childcare in Chemainus

Cherry Tree Child Care Centre on View Street holds the only Google rating in Chemainus, a 5.0 from six reviews, and six is thin enough that you should read it as encouraging rather than settled. The other four have none. Two of the five share an address. CCSA Eagle Tree Chemainus and ILM Chemainus both operate out of 3172 Garner Street, which usually means two licences under one roof rather than two separate places to visit, so if you're driving around to see the options in person you should budget four stops rather than five and save yourself a trip.

What to know about childcare in Chemainus

Smun'eem Head Start Daycare on Clam Bay Road North runs in connection with the Stz'uminus First Nation. Little Royals Child Care on Robertson Street is the town's only family dayhome. Four centres, one dayhome, and that is the entire field.

MapleCub holds no age-group data for any Chemainus listing. That's not unusual for British Columbia, where roughly eighty-six percent of our provincial records carry no age licensing at all, so we can't tell you which of these five take infants, and since the answer reshapes the shortlist more than anything else does, it should be the first question on the first call. Ask it early.

Chemainus is part of the Municipality of North Cowichan and Duncan sits about twenty minutes south with considerably more capacity. British Columbia's Child Care Fee Reduction Initiative lowers the parent fee directly at participating centres, while the Affordable Child Care Benefit is a separate income-tested subsidy you apply for yourself through the province. The two stack. Most families here qualify for at least the first.
