Alberta Child Care Licensing
The seven rated programs in Chestermere average 4.60, which is precisely the Alberta-wide figure across our entire provincial corpus. Eleven programs are listed here in total, every one of them a centre. Dead on the provincial number. Five of the seven sit at 4.5 or higher. Alberta's data also arrives with age ranges attached, unlike most of the country, so the age filter on this page actually works. Seven listings record infant care. Seven record toddler, all eleven record preschool, and five record school-age.

What to know about childcare in Chestermere
Chestermere Community Playschool holds 5.0 across 17 reviews, though its only recorded age band is preschool. Brightpath Chestermere carries the largest review base in town at 83, more than double anything else here, and it holds 4.7 while recording all four age bands. KIDZPEN follows on 36 reviews at 4.8 and Lunar Academy Learning Centre on 34 at 4.9. Those three are the reliably measured options. The perfect fives are not.
No family day homes appear in the Chestermere data at all, which is worth understanding rather than accepting at face value, because Alberta's approved day homes are contracted through agencies and are frequently recorded under the agency rather than the municipality, so home-based care almost certainly exists here even though our provincial extract shows none. Zero listed. Not zero available.
Alberta funds affordability through the Affordability Grant and the federal-provincial agreement rather than through a per-centre subsidy flag, so the flag on every Chestermere listing tells you nothing that distinguishes one from another. Ask for the out-of-pocket monthly rate. In dollars. Calgary sits immediately west with 652 listings, and a large share of Chestermere parents already drive that way each morning.

Tips for choosing childcare in Chestermere
Verify Licensing
Confirm the centre holds a current provincial licence. A licence means the province checked baseline health, safety and staffing standards — it is a floor, not a ranking.
Read Parent Reviews
Reviews cover what an inspection report never will: what drop-off feels like, whether messages get answered, how long staff stay.
Ask About Curriculum
Ask what a Tuesday actually looks like. "Montessori" and "play-based" mean different things at different centres, so the daily schedule tells you more than the label does.
Consider Schedule Fit
Check the posted open and close times against your commute, not just your workday. Then ask what happens when you're late.
