Daycare & Childcare in Dundas

Dundas has been part of the City of Hamilton since the 2001 amalgamation, but it still runs like its own town, and childcare here is no exception. MapleCub lists six licensed centres. Four have enough reviews to average, and across those four the mean is 4.63, which sits above the Ontario figure of 4.46 drawn from more than two thousand rated centres.

What to know about childcare in Dundas

Dundas Daycare is the anchor. It holds 4.8 across twenty-two reviews, the largest review base in town, and St. James Co-Operative Nursery School of Dundas carries a 5.0, though that rests on four reviews and should be treated as a hint rather than a ranking. Sir William Osler YMCA Child Care sits at 4.4 from seven reviews and Dundas Valley Co-Operative Preschool holds 4.3 from eight, so the middle of this list is bunched tightly enough that the gaps between them are inside the noise.

Two of those names carry a warning. A co-operative nursery school and a co-operative preschool are usually part-day programs running a few mornings a week, often with a parent-duty requirement attached, and they are not a substitute for full-day care if both parents work a standard week. Dundas Valley Montessori School is a third that may run on a school calendar.

St. Bernadette Early Learning and Care Centre rounds out the six. Age bands are missing for all of them in our records, which is the Ontario norm rather than anything specific to Dundas, so infant availability has to be confirmed directly with each centre. All six operate under CWELCC. Ask about enrolment.
