Licensed Infant Care in L Ancienne Lorette, QC

Infant Care in L Ancienne Lorette

L'Ancienne-Lorette posts the highest average rating of the twenty communities in this batch. Six of its eight licensed centres carry enough reviews to average, and the result, 4.68, sits well clear of the Québec average of 4.52. Five of those six are at 4.5 or better. The eight hold 466 places between them. The caveat is size. Twenty-three reviews is the deepest base in town, and most of the others sit at three to six, so this is a set of small samples that happen to agree rather than a strong statistical result.

What to know about childcare in L Ancienne Lorette

L'Ancienne-Lorette is an enclave. It is entirely surrounded by Québec City and functions as part of that labour market, which means a parent's realistic options include garderies in Sainte-Foy, Val-Bélair and Les Saules, and the eight listings on this page are a floor rather than a ceiling.

Les Bambins de la Petite École Notre-Dame and Garderie Petite École Notre-Dame both show 4.7 across 23 reviews. Same operator, same Google profile, two licences of very different size: 20 places and 80. Read that score as belonging to the organisation rather than to either address, because the small installation and the large one will feel nothing alike on a Tuesday morning.

CPE les Pilotes de l'Avenir runs two installations here, des Belles-Rivières at 58 places and au Petit Poucet at 37, and neither has a public rating. Absence of reviews is not a signal. CPEs are non-profit and parent-governed, and they tend to attract far fewer Google reviews than private garderies for reasons that have nothing whatever to do with the quality of the care, mostly because a parent who waited two years for a subsidised place is not in the habit of grading it in public afterwards.

Seven of the eight are licensed for infants, which is unusually high. The reduced parent contribution is $9.65 a day at subsidised places. Registration runs through the Portail d'inscription aux services de garde, the provincial waiting list system, and a garderie that directs you there is following the rules rather than putting you off.
