Ministère de la Famille Licensing
Quebec's reduced daily contribution is the number that decides your budget, and in L'Assomption which of these seven you get into decides whether you pay it. Five are garderies and two are CPE installations: la Cabotine on rue Dorval and Baliballon 3 on rue de l'Azalée. The CPE installations run on the subsidised rate as a matter of course, while a privately run garderie may hold subsidised places, may charge its own rate, or may offer you one of each depending on which room has space when you call.

What to know about childcare in L Assomption
Only two listings carry enough Google reviews to be readable. Garderie l'Univers de Cassiopée sits at 3.5 across 12 and Garderie les Coquelicots at 4.0 across four, so the local average of 3.75 against 4.52 for rated Quebec listings rests on sixteen reviews in total, which is a prompt to go and look rather than anything approaching a ranking. Five have no usable rating at all.
Licensed capacity comes to 482 places across the seven, with individual installations between 42 and 80. Six list infant places. All seven list toddler and preschool, so age coverage in our records is complete for this town.
Just one has a website on file and six have a phone number. Garderie Éducative Roméo & Juliette is out on boulevard de l'Ange-Gardien Nord, Garderie Marie-Popine is on boulevard Jacques-DeGeay and Garderie Tournesol sits on boulevard Hector-Papin, which puts the seven across the whole town rather than in one quarter. Register on the Portail d'inscription aux services de garde first. Then start phoning.

Tips for choosing childcare in L Assomption
Verify Licensing
Confirm the centre holds a current provincial licence. A licence means the province checked baseline health, safety and staffing standards. It is a floor, not a ranking.
Read Parent Reviews
Reviews cover what an inspection report never will: what drop-off feels like, whether messages get answered, how long staff stay.
Ask About Curriculum
Ask what a Tuesday actually looks like. "Montessori" and "play-based" mean different things at different centres, so the daily schedule tells you more than the label does.
Consider Schedule Fit
Check the posted open and close times against your commute, not just your workday. Then ask what happens when you're late.

What should I look for when choosing a daycare in L Assomption?
Check for an active provincial licence, staff-to-child ratios, program approach (play-based, Montessori, francophone), age-group coverage, CPE / garderie subventionnée participation, and parent reviews. MapleCub lets you filter L Assomption daycares by all of these.
Which daycares in L Assomption have the strongest Google ratings?

A small number of reviews is weak evidence: treat a handful of 5-star ratings as a starting point, not proof of quality.
