Licensed Before & After School Care in Welland, ON

Before & After School Care in Welland

Five of the 17 licensed child care centres in Welland are French-language programs. For a Niagara city of 55,000 that is a substantial francophone offering, and it is the first thing worth flagging about this list. There are no separate home-based listings. That is the Ontario pattern rather than a Welland one, since licensed home care in this province runs through agencies and generally does not surface as an individual provider you can look up by name.

What to know about childcare in Welland

Seven Welland centres have three or more Google reviews and they average 4.10 stars, which sits below the Ontario average of 4.46 across rated listings, though only two of the seven clear 4.5 and the sample is thin enough that you should hold the comparison loosely rather than treat it as settled. Ten carry nothing. Hold it loosely.

Alexandra Ridge Montessori shows five stars across six reviews. Sacred Heart Day Nursery holds 4.8 across sixteen, which is the more solid of the two figures, and Welland Regional Child Care Centre four stars across four.

Age licensing is missing for every Welland listing. That is true across most of Ontario, where roughly 82% of provincial listings arrive with no age breakdown recorded anywhere in them, so this page cannot tell you who takes infants and the gap says nothing about the reality on the ground. Ask each centre.

All 17 participate in CWELCC, the federal-provincial agreement that caps what parents pay and is the reason licensed care in Ontario now costs a fraction of its 2022 price, while fee subsidy on top of that is administered by Niagara Region rather than by the City of Welland. Apply to the Region. St. Catharines has 40 centres twenty minutes north and Niagara Falls another 19.
