Licensed Infant Care in Brossard, QC

Infant Care in Brossard

Brossard's 38 licensed garderies make it one of the South Shore's most complete child care markets, and one of the few where MapleCub's age data covers every single listing. All 38 centres serve toddlers and preschoolers, and 31 of them (82%) are licensed for infants, an infant share most Canadian cities can't approach. The market splits evenly on cost model: 19 centres hold reduced-contribution (subsidized) places at Québec's fixed daily rate, while the other 19 charge full fees that families offset through the provincial tax credit: two very different cash-flow realities worth understanding before you tour. Ratings average 4.60 stars across centres with at least three reviews, above the Québec-wide 4.52, and a full 19 of 38 reach 4.5 stars or better. Garderie Montessori Brossard leads with a 5.0 average over 16 reviews, with Garderie Éducative les Belles Frimousses (5.0 over 15) and Garderie les Moments Magiques (5.0 over 14) right behind. School-age care is the one gap: no listed centre offers it, as Québec school-age care runs mainly through school-based programs.

What to know about childcare in Brossard

The defining choice in Brossard isn't which centre has the best playground. It's the cost model. Nineteen of the 38 listed garderies offer reduced-contribution places, where parents pay Québec's fixed subsidized daily rate; the other 19 are full-fee centres whose costs are partially recovered through the province's refundable tax credit. The subsidized rate means far lower out-of-pocket payments but typically longer waits through the Portail d'inscription aux services de garde, Québec's centralized waitlist; full-fee centres often have shorter queues but require families to front the cost and recoup it at tax time or via anticipated payments. Run both math scenarios before deciding which line to wait in.

On quality evidence, Brossard performs well: 19 of 38 centres score 4.5 stars or better among those with at least three Google reviews, and the 4.60 market average beats the Québec-wide 4.52. Three garderies hold perfect 5.0 averages on solid volume: Garderie Montessori Brossard (16 reviews), Garderie Éducative les Belles Frimousses (15) and Garderie les Moments Magiques (14). Those are meaningful counts, though still modest; treat them as a strong shortlist signal and verify the feel in person.

Age coverage is where Brossard's data genuinely shines. Every listing carries age-group information (no other market this size in MapleCub's Québec data is as complete) and the numbers are parent-friendly: all 38 centres take toddlers and preschoolers, and 31 accept infants. An 82% infant share is exceptional; even so, infant rooms in subsidized centres remain the single hardest spot to land in Québec, so register on the Portail as soon as your child is born, well before your desired start date.

The one structural gap is school-age care: none of the 38 listed centres offers it. That's normal for Québec, where before- and after-school care for 5-and-ups runs through the services de garde en milieu scolaire attached to schools. Families with school-age children should inquire directly with their school board rather than with garderies.
