12 licensed daycares in Cite De Dorval, QC

Daycare & Childcare in Cite De Dorval

Dorval lists 12 licensed daycares, and every one of them is a centre rather than a home-based service, which is less a fact about Dorval than a fact about the Quebec file we receive, since no responsable en milieu familial appears anywhere in our provincial data. That gap is ours. Read the twelve as installation supply only. Five carry enough Google reviews to judge and they average 4.52, which is exactly the Quebec-wide figure across every centre in our corpus with at least three reviews, so on the one measure we can actually compute Dorval is the provincial average made flesh. Seven of the twelve offer reduced-contribution places. Call it 58%. The province sits nearer 74%.

What to know about childcare in Cite De Dorval

Acad-Amie Bord-du-Lac holds 5.0 across 14 reviews, the strongest single signal in town, while CPE Dorval matches that 5.0 on only four reviews, a sample small enough that one unhappy family would move it half a point and two would sink it below the town average. Four reviews is not evidence. It is a hint. Garderie Bourke runs two Dorval sites, Bourke at 4.4 on eight reviews and Bourke Ouest at 4.2 on thirteen, and that kind of consistency between sister locations under one operator usually tells you more about how a place is actually run than any single score does.

Age coverage in the Dorval records is unusually complete. All twelve register toddler and preschool placements and nine register infant places, which is normally the binding constraint for a household planning a return to work around the twelve-month mark, so the local picture is better than the Quebec average on the one age band that tends to decide everything. None register school-age care. That absence is real, because Quebec runs out-of-school care through the centres de services scolaires rather than through garderies.

Settle the subsidy question first. Seven Dorval centres offer places at the provincial daily rate, while the other five bill market fees and route you to the refundable tax credit at filing time, which means a good share of the money comes back roughly a year after you have already spent it, and a year is a long time when the cheque clears monthly. Timing beats stars. A half-point rating difference will not reshape your budget.

Dorval sits on Montréal's West Island, with the island core carrying 658 listings and Lachine 22 and Pointe-Claire 17 a short drive away. The wrong axis is distance. Parents who commute downtown tend to find more by searching along the daily route than by drawing a circle around the house.
