Licensed centres
Read the names before you count. Two of Kimberley's seven listings are after-school programs rather than daycare, Lindsay Park Afterschool Program on Salmo Street and Beehive Afterschool Program on 309th Avenue, and if you're looking for full-day care for a child under five the practical list is a good deal shorter than the number on the page suggests. Five are centres. Two are home-based, and Cranbrook sits twenty minutes south with a great deal more capacity.
Rocky Mountain Childcare in Marysville on 309 Avenue is the only listing carrying all four age bands, infant through school age, which makes it the broadest option in town on paper.
Purcell International Preschool sits out on Highway 95A. Kimberley Independent School is on 101 Avenue. Both are school or preschool programmes rather than full-day care.
The two home-based options are Buddies on 7th on 7th Avenue and Lil Tykes Daycare on Banks Street, and in a town where most of the centre capacity turns out to be school-age or preschool it's the home providers who usually hold whatever under-three space exists.
Start there. It's the opposite of the advice most parents get.
Five of the seven carry no age data at all and no listing has enough Google reviews for a rating. Two have websites. All seven have a phone number. Cranbrook is about twenty minutes south and carries considerably more licensed capacity.
Verify Licensing
Confirm the centre holds a current provincial licence. A licence means the province checked baseline health, safety and staffing standards — it is a floor, not a ranking.
Read Parent Reviews
Reviews cover what an inspection report never will: what drop-off feels like, whether messages get answered, how long staff stay.
Ask About Curriculum
Ask what a Tuesday actually looks like. "Montessori" and "play-based" mean different things at different centres, so the daily schedule tells you more than the label does.
Consider Schedule Fit
Check the posted open and close times against your commute, not just your workday. Then ask what happens when you're late.

What should I look for when choosing a daycare in Kimberley?
Check for an active provincial licence, staff-to-child ratios, program approach (play-based, Montessori, francophone), age-group coverage, CCFRI / ACCS participation, and parent reviews. MapleCub lets you filter Kimberley daycares by all of these.
Ask about spots near you
We email the centre and ask whether they have room for your child's age group. If they answer, we send you what they said. We don't hold live vacancy data, and centres aren't obliged to reply.
