Licensed Preschool in Mascouche, QC

Preschool in Mascouche

Eleven of the fourteen Mascouche services with a usable review history sit at 4.5 or above, the tightest concentration of well-regarded services in this batch. The city average is 4.67 against a Quebec average of 4.52, and with 14 of 18 services reviewed the figure covers most of the field rather than a flattering slice of it. Three services show 5.0: Centre Éducatif et d'Éveil la Petite École and Garderie Éducative les Fourmis from 10 reviews each, and Garderie des Petits Artistes from 7. The weaker number is funding: 12 of 18 hold reduced-contribution places, about 67% against a provincial 73.9%, so a third of the city charges market fees. All 18 are licensed for toddlers and preschoolers; 15 take infants. As everywhere in Quebec, our data covers installations only and no milieu familial.

What to know about childcare in Mascouche

What makes Mascouche unusual is the consistency rather than any single standout. Eleven of the fourteen reviewed services clear 4.5, which means a family working down this list is choosing among good options rather than searching for the one that is not a compromise. Three sit at a full 5.0 on ten, ten and seven reviews respectively (small samples individually), but the pattern across fourteen services is harder to dismiss than any one score. Where a city like Saint-Hyacinthe posts a higher average from a much thinner base, Mascouche's number is backed by most of its field.

Funding is the trade-off. Twelve services offer places at the reduced contribution ($9.65 a day now, $10.60 from January 2027) and six do not, charging market fees recovered partly through the provincial tax credit at year end. Sixty-seven percent is under the provincial norm, and in a city where the quality spread is narrow, funding status is likely to be the deciding variable on your shortlist rather than reputation. Sort by it early.

Fifteen of 18 services are licensed for infants. Pouponnière ratios keep the number of under-18-month places small at each one, so treat that as a good ratio rather than an easy search. No service is listed for school age, which is standard in Quebec: school-age care runs through each school's own service de garde.

Two practical steps: register on the Portail d'inscription aux services de garde, since your position dates from enrolment rather than from your first phone call, and ask the local bureau coordonnateur about milieu familial places if a home setting appeals. Those exist in Mascouche but are coordinated separately and do not appear in these listings.
