BC Child Care Licensing
Saanichton has ten licensed listings, seven centres and three home-based providers. Exactly one of them is rated. Countryside Preschool on St Stephens Road shows 5.0 across three Google reviews, which is the bare minimum before MapleCub will publish a score at all, and three reviews is nowhere near enough to tell you anything useful about how a child care provider actually runs its rooms. Three reviews is where a search starts.

What to know about childcare in Saanichton
The other names are Almosthome Shady Creek on East Saanich Road, Sesisej Childcare Centre on Veyaness Road, and Little Roos Family Daycare on Oldfield Road. Little Roos is one of the three home-based options. Five of the ten have a website and all ten list a phone number, and since nine listings carry no rating whatsoever, the phone is where a real search starts here rather than where it finishes.
Ages are missing outright, on every one of the ten. British Columbia records them for only about one listing in seven, and Saanichton falls on the wrong side of that entirely, which leaves you with an address, a licence type and a phone number as the sum total of what this page can tell you before you call. No score, no ages, ten numbers. Saanichton and Brentwood Bay both sit in the District of Central Saanich, minutes apart on the same peninsula, and the two lists are worth working through together rather than separately.

Tips for choosing childcare in Saanichton
Verify Licensing
Confirm the centre holds a current provincial licence. A licence means the province checked baseline health, safety and staffing standards. It is a floor, not a ranking.
Read Parent Reviews
Reviews cover what an inspection report never will: what drop-off feels like, whether messages get answered, how long staff stay.
Ask About Curriculum
Ask what a Tuesday actually looks like. "Montessori" and "play-based" mean different things at different centres, so the daily schedule tells you more than the label does.
Consider Schedule Fit
Check the posted open and close times against your commute, not just your workday. Then ask what happens when you're late.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many daycares are in Saanichton?
Ten licensed listings: seven centres and three home-based providers.
Which is rated highest?
Only one has a rating at all. Countryside Preschool sits at 5.0 across three reviews, which is the minimum before a score is published and too thin to rank anything by.
Do they take infants?
No Saanichton listing has an age range recorded in the provincial file, so the age filters show nothing here. Ask each provider directly.
Where else should I look?
Brentwood Bay is minutes away in the same District of Central Saanich and carries another ten listings, so search the two together.
How many daycares in Saanichton publish their opening hours?
3 of the 10 licensed programmes MapleCub has on file in Saanichton publish their hours. The rest have not listed opening and closing times, so call to confirm.
MapleCub isn't a waitlist. Signing up here doesn't hold a spot.
Ask about spots near you
We email the centre and ask whether they have room for your child's age group. If they answer, we send you what they said. We don't hold live vacancy data, and centres aren't obliged to reply.
