Licensed Preschool in Saint Constant, QC

Preschool in Saint Constant

Thirteen licensed childcare centres operate in Saint-Constant, and four have enough Google reviews to rate. Those four average 4.40. Underneath the average the spread is wide, which is more useful than the mean: two centres hold 5.0, and Garderie les Mille et un Tresors 2 sits at 3.8 across 34 reviews. Thirty-four reviews is the deepest record in town by a distance, and a 3.8 on that many is a firmer number than a 5.0 on five. Eleven of the 13 are licensed for infants under 12 months. All 13 take toddlers and preschoolers.

What to know about childcare in Saint Constant

Garderie Educative Lumiere de Ma Vie holds 5.0 across 10 reviews, the strongest combination of score and sample in Saint-Constant. Garderie le Petit Monde Marin also shows 5.0, on five, and the 3.8 deserves reading rather than dismissing, because a centre with 34 reviews has usually been open longer and served more families, and a mid-range score on a large sample often describes a place that is ordinary rather than one that is bad.

Ten of the 13 carry the $9.65 reduced-contribution rate and three bill market fees, which is normal for Quebec. The three market-rate garderies are worth calling rather than skipping, because their lists are usually shorter and the refundable tax credit recovers a large part of the difference by the following spring.

Eleven infant licences out of 13 is high. Quebec records permitted age groups in its registry, so that is a permit count rather than an estimate. A permit is not a vacancy.

Saint-Constant sits in the Roussillon MRC next to Delson, Sainte-Catherine and Candiac, and those four towns operate as one childcare market whatever the municipal boundaries say, so broadening the search across them roughly triples the list, and one registration on the Portail d'inscription aux services de garde reaches all of them.

The commute is the other constraint. Most working parents here cross the Mercier or the Champlain into Montreal, and both are unpredictable enough that a centre's closing time is a harder limit than its opening time. Ask what happens at 18:00. Get the late fee as a dollar figure, and ask how many minutes of grace apply.
